Jimmie L. Crooks, 55, of Fort Dodge died Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Jimmie is survived by his children Tyler (Artemis) Crooks- Glendora, CA, Jimmie Crooks, Jr.- Jesup, IA, Keiona Crooks - Ft. Dodge, IA, Audi Crooks - Algona, IA; Thomas (Charakii) Davis, Jr - Tuscaloosa, AL, Abby Ault - Ft. Dodge, IA, Alayna Chastain and Lyric Tschetter - Sioux Falls, SD; brother - Johnnie Crooks, Jr.; sisters - Cintrenell Cox, Barbara Crooks (Dedric McZeal), Chrisstine (Carlos) Rocha - all of Ft. Dodge, IA; Marylin Hameed (Linwood Cork) - Chicago, IL; Bernice (Chester) Pepper - Duluth, MN; Christine Howard - Milwaukee, WI; eight grandchildren, his special friend Sheri Ault; a host of nieces and nephews; an aunt, an uncle and a host of cousins. phew. Jimmie Crooks, Sr was born May 12, 1966 in Fort Dodge, IA. He attended Fort Dodge Community Schools graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1985. After High School Jimmie attended the following colleges - Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN, Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls, IA, and Southern Nazarene, Bethany OK. Jimmie worked at Fareway, Union Pacific Railroad, Long John Silvers, Rabiners, Fort Dodge Community School District and Rent-A-Center. In 1997 he was united in marriage to Ann Stalzer. The couple later divorced in 2003. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church where he was the Minister of Music for some time. He was previously a Mason for H.C. Meriwether Masonic Lodge #46 Fort Dodge. Jimmie loved spending time with his children, family and friends. He loved to sing, dance and play music, especially on his keyboard. He always had a jam session at Calvary Memorial Church of God in Christ with his God siblings. Memorials may be left to the discretion of his family.
