Casey LeHew CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Casey Philip LeHew, 31, of Cedar Rapids, died September 30, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospital amp; Clinics after a short battle with leukemia. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the Salem United Methodist Church, 327 35th St. NE, formerly Kenwood Presbyterian Park Church, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Rev. John Louk will officiate. Burial will be at Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008, at the Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, and also Saturday from 12 NOON until service time at the church. Casey was born March 1, 1977, in Adelanto, California, the son of Philip and Jean Stevens LeHew. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1995. He was working at Affordable Heating amp; Cooling as a HVAC installer. He married the light of his life, Jody Cook on Sept. 6, 2003. They shared a love so strong that it only became stronger as time passed. He enjoyed flower gardening and landscaping, woodworking and reading. ed. He celebrated life with a faith in God that never faltered. He was gentle natured, playful and enjoyed an immeasurable sense of humor. He would put his own needs aside to help others. He will be deeply missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Jody LeHew of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Jeannie Sampica; his father, Philip LeHew and step-mother, Flo, all of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Barry LeHew of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Erin Lindsey and husband, Gary, of Savannah, Georgia; two step-sisters, Jill McDonald of Cedar Rapids and Joen Lane of Bloomington, Illinois; a step-brother, Johnny DeMuth of Elkader; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lonnie and Patti Cook of Muscatine; a sister-in-law, Lori Cook of Blue Grass; many aunts and uncles; 17 nieces and nephews and three great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cortlandt and Helen Stevens and Kenneth and Mary LeHew; and an uncle, Robert Stevens.
