Kay Gutterman

Kay Gutterman, 48, of Phoenix, AZ died Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Kay was born August 13, 1973, in Mason City, IA to Kenneth and Evelyn Gutterman. Kay grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1991. Kay graduated from the University of Iowa in 1995 with a degree in Actuarial Science. In 1995, Kay moved to Scottsdale, AZ and worked as a Systems Analyst for AdvancePCS/Caremark until 2004. In September 2004, Kay moved to San Diego, CA where she worked as a Data Manager for MedVantx and BD. In May 2019, Kay returned to Phoenix working as a Business Analytics Advisor for Cigna. Kay married Brad Jeffers on August 31, 2013, in San Diego. To this union, a daughter Sya was born on July 1, 2014. Kay loved spending time with her daughter and family whether going on vacations, playing cards, golfing, or biking. She loved theatre and volunteered at Poway Community Theatre when she lived in San Diego. Kay is survived by her loving husband Brad, daughter Sya; sister Kim Gutterman of West Des Moines, IA; many loving cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. , 4930 E. Greenway Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 10 am to 12:00 pm at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, Scottsdale, AZ. Burial will be in Poway, CA later in the week. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
