Robert P. Jarrett MUSCATINE, Iowa - Robert Phillip Jarrett, 86, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at his home in Muscatine. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Honorary casket bearer will be Troy Carter. Casketbearers will be Eric Ashby, Jeremy Frye, Rob Frye, Victor Noel, Carter Noel, Drew Minder, Terry Frye, and Duane Carter. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to Iowa City Hospice. Robert was born on December 30, 1921, in Muscatine, the son of Phillip E. and Mabel Rands Jarrett. He married Darleen Shoppa July 11, 1942, Robert was united in marriage to Darleen Shoppa in Kahoka, Missouri. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He will be deeply missed by his children, Joyce Carter and husband, Duane, of Muscatine, Joan Frye and husband, Terry, of Clinton, Dr. Jon Jarrett of Riverside, Illinois, and Jeff Jarrett and wife, Michelle, of Muscatine; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Marshall and husband, Norman, of Muscatine and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Twyla; a brother, George in infancy; and two grandsons, Chad and Doug in infancy.
