Janis Carnegie passed away on August 23, 2021, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones. Born April 4, 1955 in New York.
Graduating from the State University of New York at Morrisville with a degree in mechanical engineering, she relocated to Maryland where she had a successful career as a mechanical engineer for 18 years.
In 2003 she relocated to Cave Creek, AZ where she began the second half of her life as a self-proclaimed chemical engineer, or bartender. In the 18 years here, her love of life, travel, the hospitality industry, family and friends grew deeper. Her infectious laugh and mile-wide smile will be greatly missed by many.
Jan is predeceased by her father and mother, Edward Reed and Marion Reed. She is survived by her brother Steven Reed (Debra), brother Daniel Reed (Pamela), nieces Danielle Smith (Ryan), Molly Reed (Alex), Tara Velloney (Nathan) nephews, Michael & Kenneth MacGillivray (Heather Cox), and her great-nieces and nephews, Savannah, Carson, Willa, Weston and many cousins.
