William R. Klatt MOSCOW, Iowa - William R. Klatt, 80, of Moscow, died Thursday, January 29, 2009, at his home. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church, Muscatine. Casketbearers will be Bill Duval, Vernon George, John Sayles, Phil Madden and Jerry Johnson. Following the services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington, Ill. on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or Unity Hospice in his name. William Robert Klatt was born on March 18, 1928, in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of William Emil and Hope Olive Springston Klatt. On March 15, 1952, he was united in marriage to Joyce Eleanor Wetzel in Bloomington, Illinois. He attended Illinois Wesleyan College and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1951, with a bachelor of fine arts and landscape architecture degree. serving as a Lieutenant Commander and research and development officer. He also spent 20 years in the Naval Reserves. He was the vice president for Stanley Consultants in Muscatine for 20 years and also the city planner for Youngstown, Ohio, Sharon, Pennsylviana, and Rock Island, Illinois, for 18 years. He enjoyed horses, traveling, painting, carving and fishing. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Joyce Klatt of Moscow; three children, Karen L. Klatt of Chicago, Illinois, Kathryn J. Klatt of Pasadena, California, and Nicholas Klatt and his wife, Jayne, of Edina, Minnensota; four grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary Seay-Klatt and Alecia and William Klatt; and a brother, Richard Klatt, of Chillicothe, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
