Raymond Porter NICHOLS, Iowa - Raymond Roger Porter, 86, formerly of Nichols, died Saturday May 2, 2009, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at the Nichols United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Nichols Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty. Memorials may be made to the Nichols United Methodist Church. Raymond was born on December 17, 1922, in Conesville, the son of James David and Lottie DeVault Ulch Porter. He attended Lacey Country School and graduated from Nichols High School. On October 19, 1947, he married Letha Reynolds in Nichols. He was employed in the livestock feed business for many years, working for several companies before beginning Porter Livestock Products in 1980. He was a lifelong resident of Nichols until moving to Muscatine in the fall of 2000. He was a member of the Nichols United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Letha, in 2004; a son, Raymond Scott, and three brothers, Ardell Ulch, William Porter and John Porter.
