Ralph Michael Dunlap

Ralph Michael Dunlap SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, - Ralph Michael Dunlap, 65, of San Diego, California died December 24, 2009, at his home of natural causes. Full military honors were held at the Fort Logan Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. Ralph was born on June 14, 1944, in Casper, Wyoming, the son of Betty Tillman and Robert Dunlap Sr. In 1961, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving three tours in Vietnam, two with the 3rd Engineer Battalion and one on Embassy duty. He retired Master Sgt. of the USMC in 1981. He started a second career as a Deputy Sheriff and K-9 officer with the Weld County Sheriff's Department of Colorado. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and a past member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed good conversation, being active and the outdoors, also taking many camping trips to Lost Lake in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. His brother Tom would say he put the needs and concerns of others most often before himself. He is survived by a daughter, Jeanna M. Dunlap; a son, Michael J.
