Donald F. Passmore ATALISSA, Iowa -Donald F. Passmore, 82, died Monday Jan. 18, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Atalissa. Burial will take place in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice or Zion Lutheran Church. Donald was born on August 23, 1927, in Nichols, the son of Fred and Theresa Gatzke Passmore. He was a graduate of Atalissa High School in 1945. He had served in the United States Air Force from 1947-49. He married Arlene Rochau on March 28, 1948, in Atalissa. He had farmed for many years in the Atalissa area and also worked for Sears and Slager Appliance as a service technician. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Atalissa. He also was a member of Izaac Walton League where he served as president of both the state and local chapter. daughters, Jacqueline Powers and husband, Lonnie, of Iowa City, Mary Passmore of Coralville, Pamela Passmore of Iowa City, and Karen Lenz and husband, Larry, of Nichols; five grandchildren, Ryan Powers and wife, Chelsea, Jason Powers, Adam Powers, Dustin Lenz and wife, Jenna and Travis Lenz; a sister, Marie Kline of Kansas City, Missouri; and a brother, Dwight Passmore and wife, Judy, of Atalissa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
