Richard ''Dick'' Duggan

RICHARD DICK DUGGAN MUSCATINE, Iowa - Richard Dick Duggan, 76, of Muscatine, died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at his home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Jason Crossen of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish will officiate. Casket bearers will be David Duggan, Tim Duggan, Robert Duggan, Chad Bohling, John Keith, Phillip Yerington, and Thomas Duggan Jr. There will be a funeral luncheon following the committal service at Gannon Hall. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice in Dick's name. Dick was born on August 24, 1933, in Muscatine, the son of James and Bernice Reay Duggan. His first marriage was to Mary Ann Cozine on March 21, 1953. He later married Frances Marks in July of 1991. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2008. He worked as a receiving supervisor at Prime Mover Company for 36 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish. Those left to honor his memory include three sons, Steve Duggan and wife, Kristine, of Muscatine, Tom Duggan and wife, Hollie, of Tucson, Arizona, and Patrick Duggan of Muscatine; two daughters, Lynn Bohling and husband, Ed, of Muscatine, and Barb Yerington and husband, Kevin, of Muscatine; one step-son, Matt Hicks and wife, Kristina, of Clinton; two step-daughters, Vickie Peterson of Burlington, and Misty Hicks of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Eileen Bennett of Muscatine, Phyllis Bartenhagen of Stockton, California, Judy Vargus and husband, Bob, of Muscatine and Jan Boche and husband, Jurgen, of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances; and one brother, William Duggan.
