CAROL HOUSER ILLINOIS CITY, Illinois - Carol Y. Houser, 69, of Illinois City, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Reverend Jason Crossen will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be Brad Marcellus, Ashley Marcellus, Larry Wilkerson, George Campbell, John Houser and Amy Redman. Burial will take place in Drury-Reynolds Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Muscatine. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Illinois City Fire Department or Ss. Mary and Mathias Catholic School. Carol was born on December 27, 1940, in Livingston County, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred and Mildred Cox Tammen. She married Wilfred 'Bill' Houser on January 15, 1961, at St. Mary's Church in Muscatine. She enjoyed camping, fishing, bird watching, crocheting, and embroidering, and she especially enjoyed riding horses.
