-from-Mom for hundreds of young Officers, Sailors, Marines and their spouses - it was a role she excelled at and truly cherished. She was known throughout the Navy for her spectacular dinner parties and for hosting massive Thanksgiving and other Holiday feasts for single Sailors and Marines serving away from their loved ones. She provided great emotional support to young Americans who were themselves, or the spouse of someone, serving in combat. Sue was a proud member of VFW post 5670's auxiliary until her illness prevented her from further participation. Her family will make a donation to the post in her honor. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Joe Boogren of Gwinn; daughters, Kris (Joshua) Preston and Katie (Jacob) Bonzer of Gwinn, Marybeth (David) Langin of Norway, Sarah Boogren (Jacob Peterson) of Negaunee; sons, Robert James "RJ" Boogren of Gwinn and Desmond Boogren of Marquette; sisters, Debbie (Michael) Clynne of Redwood City CA and Dr. Dorthea Trimble of Visalia CA; many nieces and nephews; and Most Of All, her 11 grandchildren, Ava, Hunter, Miles, Jonah, Haylie, Cooper, Kenley, Parker, Joey, Nate and Topher, whom she adored. Every hug earned a lemon drop from Grammy Sue. The Boogren Family wish to extend special thanks to Dr. Catherine Kroll, Dorothy and Marie of UP Home Health and Hospice, and to Ms. Betty Gains who took such respectful care of Sue for these past many years. Sue's earthly body is in the care of the Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home and Cremation Serives. Per her wishes, no formal service will occur. In Sue's inimitable fashion, she held and hosted her own service with Family and Friends last month. She will be interred at the Gwinn Cemetery at a later date. Memories of Sue may be shared at canalefuneral.com.
