Robert Grigg "Bob" Prater
Robert Prater passed away on Wednesday, October 27th at his home in Glendale, Arizona. Bob was born on January 7th, 1945 to John Forrest Prater and Eileen Rose (Dilley) Prater. Bob's father passed away on April 2, 1945, so he hasn't been able to meet or get to know his father until now. After his father's untimely death, Bob was raised by his maternal grandparents, Albert Ray Dilley and Susie Caroline (Myers) in Pana, Illinois. Bob's mother remarried and had twin boys, Ray Leroy and Raymond Lee Roberts. Ray Leroy died in 1977 and Raymond Lee died in 1985. After Bob came home from the service, he ended up in a small town in Northern Illinois where he met Linda Lou Bark. They were married and had two children, John and Sueanne. While the children were still in elementary school, Bob and Linda decided to relocate to Arizona, and have lived here ever since. Bob was a great husband and father and worked for many years for the VA. He loved to go hunting and camping, watch football, and have his children around him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and both of his brothers. He was survived by Nadia, his children, John and Sueanne, his grandchildren Alex and Delaney, and a great-grandchild, Avery.
