MYLES ANTHONY REED 61, of West Point, Georgia, entered peacefully into eternal rest on September 21, 2010, at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 22, 1948, in West Point, Georgia, to proud parents James and Almatine Reed. He was a graduate of Harrison High School, LaGrange College, and served his country as a military police office in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a Juvenile Probation Officer (LaGrange), and also worked as a carpenter/handyman. Myles enjoyed fishing, traveling, and reading all genres of literature. He served as a dedicated church and choir member at Emanuel Chapel CME Methodist Church in West Point, Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Goss Reed-Lanett, AL; three children Dr. Carol Wilson-Oak Forest, Illinois; Don Reed-Chicago, Illinois; Shannon Reed (Joseph) Johnson--Fayetteville, GA; two stepdaughters Yolanda (Tommy) Smith-Valley, AL, Sonya (Henry) Story-Lanett, AL; six grandchildren-Alexis, Dione, Noah, Jonathan, Christopher, and Donya; siblings-Francis Scott, Carolyn Reed (Parks), Jacqueline Reed(Thorpe) Thomas (Madeline)Reed, Rome, GA; James (Mary) Reed, Valley, AL; nephews, Dan (Tracy) Sims, Timmy Thorpe, Dilmus Ree...[more]
