Winona Campbell

Winona Maxine Campbell, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2011, after a short illness. She was born September 12, 1925 to Frank and Esta Mae Crabtree in Lucasville, Ohio. After graduating from Scioto Township High School, she came to Dayton, where she was first employed at Wright Patterson AFB as a secretary for several years. She was a member of the Ferry Church of Christ where she served as secretary for 29+ years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Howard Campbell; her parents; two brothers, Everett and Oral Crabtree; a son-in-law, Tom Hammock; and two great nephews, Ryan and Brandon Crabtree. She is survived by two daughters, Sue (Rick) Centers of Lebanon and Vicki (David) Taflan of Carlisle; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Laurie) Centers, Matthew (Shana) Centers, Quentin Hammock, and MacKenzie Hammock; and one great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace Centers (who arrived a few hours after Winona's death); a brother, Lowell (Scottie) Crabtree; a sister, Helen Herblan; a sister-in-law, Marcella Crabtree; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
