She enjoyed birdwatching, scrapbooking, jigsaw puzzles, hand sewing, working with the Auxiliary, traveling, playing bridge, car rides, and ice cream treats. Virginia and Gene were avid fans and supporters of the University of Iowa Hawkeye athletics. Virginia loved her family and attended many of their activities. Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Sara (Bill) Phelan and Sandy (Dan) Dahl all of Muscatine; her grandchildren, Andy (Audrey) Phelan and their children, Libby and Riley of Muscatine, Mark (Rebecca) Phelan and their children, Iris, Mabel, Edward, and Wilhelmina of Scottsdale, Arizona, Amanda (Seth) Weis and their children, Zachary, Melissa, and Lillian of Davenport, Bryan Dahl and Betsy and Charlie Bedenbender of Muscatine, and Cori (Matt) McDonough and their children, Everly and Logan of Marion. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; great granddaughter, Stella St. Clair; and four brothers, Howard, Roy, John, and Robert. The family would like to give a special thank you to Virginia's dear companion, GraceAnn Boyton, Dr. Weis and his staff, SunnyBrook Assisted Living, and St. Croix Hospice for all of their support and care.
