Anthony J. "Tony" Maida, of Fort Washington PA, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Silverstream Nursing Home in Springhouse.
Born in Eckhart, MD, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Rosaria (nee Sicolo) Maida.
He served in the US Army in World War II as a tank commander during the European, African and Middle Eastern Campaigns.
Mr. Maida was a carpenter and shipwright for the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for over 20 years prior to his retirement in 1983.
Tony was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler and the LRB Club in Ambler.
He is survived by his wife Nancy G. (nee Gallovich) Maida and his son Leonard Maida of Flourtown, PA. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 1 great grand child and his brother James "Jimmy" Maida of Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Maida was preceded in death by his son Anthony J. Maida in 2002
Relatives and friends may call 9:30 to 10:30 AM Saturday, September 25, 2010 at St. Anthony of Padua Church 259 Forest Ave. Ambler with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with the Rev. Msgr. Stephen P. McHenry Pastor as Celebrant. Interment will be in Notre Dame Des Neiges Cemetery Montreal, Canada.
