James Francis Stehling

JAMES F. STEHLING James Stehling, formerly of Shorewood and Mequon, passed away Tuesday morning, June 28th, at Elizabeth Residence in Bayside where he had been residing for the last year. He was 79 years old. Jim was born in Milwaukee on January 22, 1932, son of Frank T. Stehling and Nora Manz Stehling. He attended school in Milwaukee and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1950. After graduation, Jim served in the US Army. After the Army, he returned to Milwaukee to work for his father Frank at his insurance agency. Jim purchased the agency from his father in the 1960's and moved the agency to Shorewood. He operated the business until his retirement in 1992. Jim loved cross country skiing, running in marathons, sailing and golf. He adored his granddaughters, and spending time with his family at his cottage in Door County. He was an avid collector and also enjoyed wooden boat building. After his retirement, Jim loved to spend the winter months in Tucson, AZ. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank T. and Nora Manz Stehling. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 5th at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Avenue in Cedarburg, with Father Dan Janasik officiating. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 10AM until 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to the charity of donor's choice.
