Dennis H. Garner

Dennis H. Garner, 76, of Maquoketa, Iowa, and formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday afternoon, December 8, 2021, under the care of Hospice of Jackson County. At Peace Cremation Services have been provided by Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. No public services are planned at this time. Dennis Howard Garner was born on June 18, 1946 in Illinois, to Howard and Beulah (Schroeder) Garner. He was a high school graduate and then entered Air Force. He married Jill DeVoe on August 19, 2011. Dennis had worked at John Deere, then went to the Air Force and served his country earning an honorable discharge, and then returned home to work as a machinist at John Deere. He retired after 30 years. Dennis enjoyed boating, hunting, mushroom hunting, and corvettes in his younger years. Later in life he enjoyed his boxer dog Kia, watching Judge Judy, and grilling. Dennis is survived by his wife Jill Garner of Maquoketa, IA; two children from previous unions; 4 brothers and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his parents.
