Mr. Julius Gaddis was born the eleventh child of thirteen on Apil 29, 1952 to the parents of Alvin Troy Gaddis, Sr. and Estelle Harrell Gaddis in Goodwater, Alabama. Julius attended and graduated from the public schools of Goodwater, Alabama. He accepted Christ at an early age at St. James AME Church, Attending Sunday School and Church with his siblings, Playing guitar was a love of his. He played guitar for various groups. He often spoke of the musical gift that God gave him. He would say, "My musical gift is from God and I don't charge anything for it.' The height of his musical career came when he played for Shirley Caesar at a concert in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Gaddis also played for the Friendly Brothers and recorded with the Weeden Family, He most recently retumed to reunited and played for Sf. James AME Church. Julius worked for Russell Mills for twenty years. He worked for Bowater (Kmberly-Clark) and for himself until his health failed. He played his guitar for many churches and groups. Most recently he returned to reunite and play at St. James AME Church. Julius' mother and father preceded him in death along with one sister Annie Muiel. Four brothers...[more]

roy, Jr. (Shorty), Fred, Melvin and Wiley. Julius departed this life November 29, 2010 to be with the Lord. Julius' positive attitude on life (even during his illness) prepared his family for this day. He was very brave and strong during the battle. Funeral service for Mr. Julius Gaddis of Goodwater, Alabama will be Saturday, December 4, 2010 at St. James AME Church at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow at Marietta Baptist Church Cemetery
