Bernice Wick
Bernice Wick, a longtime Antigo resident, died Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Eagle River Aspirus Hospital. She was 93 years old. She was born on July 18, 1928, in Antigo, a daughter of John and Ida (Hoppe) Hubatch. She married Walter "Wally" Wick on July 19, 1947, in Antigo. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2018. She was a graduate of Antigo High School in 1946. She worked at Vulcan Corporation and on Zalewski Potato Farms. For many years Bernice and Wally owned and operated Antigo Block Company. She was a member of the Sparks-Doernenburg American Legion Post #3-Auxiliary, Peace Lutheran Church and volunteered for the Antigo Lions Club. She enjoyed upholstering with her daughter Laurie and helping family making their houses into homes by painting and decorating. Her hobbies included playing cards, bird watching, fishing, hunting, and four wheeling. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda (Larry) Bintz; a son-in-law, Jerry Bula; two sisters, Evelyn (Clarence) Kieper, Loretta (Gustave) Dettmann; three brothers, Roy (Doris) Hubatch, Elmer (Josephine) Hubatch, Harold Hubatch; two brothers-in-law, Robert Joerns, Richard (Andrea) Wick. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. David Karolus officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
