JOSEPHINE M. PIASECKI

Josephine M. Piasecki, 104, of Marquette, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2021 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice. Josephine was born November 16, 1917 in Eveleth, MN, the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Kovich) Klander. She graduated from Eveleth High School in 1936. Josephine worked in a defense plant during WWII in Cleveland, OH. She married Louis Piasecki after he returned from the war on January 19, 1946 in the Holy Family Church in Eveleth. They were married for 68 years when he preceded her in death on February 22, 2014. Josephine enjoyed sewing, crocheting and taking care of their home. She also enjoyed watching baseball and basketball. The Tigers and Pistons were her favorite teams. She was a member of St. Peter Cathedral. Josephine is survived by several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Margie and Leslie Thorp; and her brother-in-law, Albert Piasecki of Marquette. As well as the friendship and helpfulness of Larry and Lori Marta, Lisa Balko of the senior center, and Jill Skamser. Their care and friendship meant so much to Josephine and helped her to enjoy a long and happy life in her beloved "foxhole" home in Marquette.
