urch, St. Paul's Lutheran - where he served as past Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher and council member. Bill was a lifelong Mason and attained the 3rd degree. Bill was also active in 4-H. His loves during retirement included reading about history, economics, politics and daily news. He loved the conversation he found in Homer at the local eateries and enjoyed testing his knowledge of what he had read with the locals. Bill also loved following the Homer Knights (including his children, grandchildren, etc.) and could be found pacing the halls of Homer High School - always hoping for another Homer victory. He and Ellen enjoyed the camaraderie of the "Homer Card Club" which enjoyed many an evening playing cards and spinning yarns. Bill had a love of dancing, music and the arts overall. He and Ellen attended many a dance event with the great Eddie Skeets band and they also enjoyed many Sunday evenings listening to the soothing tones of the Sioux City Symphony at Grandview Park.
