Kurt Stolba WILTON, Iowa -- Kurt Lee Stolba, 57, of Wilton, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, in Rapid City, South Dakota, while doing what he loved, riding his Harley. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Serving as casket bearers will be Doug Brammeier, Joe Brammeier, Gary Bruns, Frank Garren, Harold Meyer, Tim Stolba, Scott Van Dervoort and Tim Durin. Interment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in his memory. Kurt was born on September 30, 1953, in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School in 1972, and from Scott Community College. He married Cheryl Brammeier on December 8, 1999, in Tipton. Kurt was a machinist at Gerdau Ameristeel in Wilton for 33 years. He was a member of HOGS and USW Local 8581. He loved riding his Harley and enjoyed cooking and grilling. Above all, he loved his family and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his hearty laugh. sons, Shannon Stolba of Tipton and Zach Stolba and wife, Tricia Sours, of Illinois City, Illinois; two granddaughters, Zoey Stolba and Claire Sours; two grandsons, Cole and Chase Sours; his parents, Leo and Carol Stolba of Marion; his sister, Teresa Stolba; and his brother, Tim Stolba and wife, Cara, of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Faye and Louis Brammeier of Wilton and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his great niece, Brittany Van Dervoort.
