Christine A. Kerner

Christine A. Kerner, of Rhinelander, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Langlade Hospital as a result of an automobile accident. She was 31 years old. She was born on March 22, 1980 in Woodruff, a daughter of Robert and Rose Marie (Fischer) Kerner. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1998 and attended Nicolet Technical College in Rhinelander where she received degrees in Graphic Arts and Licensed Practical Nursing. While in Rhinelander she worked for the Nicolet Technical College Library, Foster and Smith, the YMCA of the Northwoods and most recently at Taylor Park Nursing Home as a LPN. She was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America Troop #672-Rhinelander. As a member of the Northwoods Pride and Joy Cruisers Car club she enjoyed showing her Ford truck and car. Her hobbies included following the band New Kids on the Block, photography, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. She will be remembered for her creativity and working well with children and the elderly. (Karen) Kerner, Wheeler, Jim (Mary O'Malley) Kerner, Great Falls, MT, Mike (Jenni) Kerner, Sheridan, IL, John (June) Kerner, Antigo and Peter Kerner, Antigo; her longtime boyfriend Hunter Tromp and his parents Trent and Kathleen Tromp all of Rhinelander; thirteen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday August 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo with Rev. David Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery in Antigo. Visitation will be 3:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday and 9-10 a.m. on Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home, Hwy 45, Antigo. The rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and a parish wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
