Maxine Helen Haiar

Maxine H. Haiar, 82, of Andrew, Iowa, died on Friday morning, August 26, 2011, at the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa, Iowa. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Carson & Son Funeral Cremation Services in Maquoketa. Burial will be in the Andrew, Iowa Cemetery. Maxine Helen Nordmann was born on September 10, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa, to Peter and Gertrude (Holdefer) Nordmann. She grew up in Clinton and attended Lyons School. She married Isidore H. "Izzy" Haiar on September 21, 1945 in Sabula, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2011. Maxine was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing bingo. Maxine is survived by her children, Linda (Dean) Budde of Preston, IA, Gene (Judy) Haiar of San Diego, CA, Barry (Sarah) Haiar of Maquoketa, IA and Kenny (Dalynda) Haiar of Cedar Rapids, IA; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
