Parnell - Grayson Hunt Schminke was born February 20, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, to Dion Scott & Kristin Amber (Hunt) Schminke. He attended kindergarten at Mary Welsh Elementary School in Williamsburg. He was dedicated to the Lord at Family Church July 18, 2021. He loved his dog, Milo, the movie 8 seconds, ranger rides, relaxing in his swim spa, P.E. and Art classes. Grayson was born a healthy and vibrant little boy, always knowing what he wanted and with the most amazing smile! He excelled above and beyond cognitively. He was singing the alphabet and counting to ten at only two years old. He was tender-hearted, caring and loved to share. Grayson passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at his home near Parnell, after a cowboy tough fight with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) at the age of 5 years. Grayson's vibrant smile and kind soul stole the hearts of everyone who crossed his path. He was always surrounded by an abundance of love and support. VIP Nurses, Celinda Clubb and Sophie Karnstedt along with many very special friends, doctors, therapists, nurses and old neighbors who are all going to miss that beautiful smile. He was preceded by seven great grandparents. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, near Williamsburg. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A general memorial fund has been established.
