Mark Allen Anderson

Mark Allen Anderson, 50, of Burlington, died at 7:25 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born August 18, 1961 in Ottumwa, he was the son of Dale and Jean Alig Anderson. He married Linda Speidel. They later divorced. Mark was a 1979 graduate of Burlington High School and a 1983 graduate of University of Iowa with a double major in finance and accounting. He was self employed. Mark was a member of YMCA and Pheasants Forever. He was an avid Hawkeye, Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, sports, coaching children's basketball, handball, golf, the river and cookouts. He was a great griller. Survivors include his four children, Amanda Anderson (26), Zeke Anderson (24) and Brock Anderson (22) all of Iowa City and Austin Anderson (17) of Burlington; his companion, Robin Reu and her daughter, Hannah Reu both of Burlington; his parents, Dale and Jean Anderson of Burlington; two brothers, Brian (Nancy) Anderson of Ada, Michigan and Will (Sara) Anderson of Des Moines; and nieces and nephews, Zachary Anderson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Matthew Anderson of Tempe, Arizona, Natalie Anderson of Ada, Michigan and Isaac...[more]

Friends may call after noon Wednesday, September 14th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. The funeral service for Mark will be 1 p.m. Thursday, September 15th, in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Rigdon will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service. A memorial has been established at Two Rivers Bank for Mark's children's education. According to Mark's wishes, cremation has been accorded.
