arquette, Iowa, the son of Ira and Jessie Sherwood Everhart. He married Gertrude O. Eggen on November 7, 1942, in Pendleton, Oregon. He served in the US Air Force during World War II where he was stationed in China for two years. He had worked as a butter maker for Swift and then for Grain Processing Corporation in the power house, where he retired from in 1983. He enjoyed planes, music, camping, and his model railroad. He was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Bears. He always enjoyed tinkering in his garage. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Gertrude Everhart of Fruitland; his children, Diane Bedford of Casa Grande, Arizona, John Everhart and wife, Ruth, of Fruitland, Richard Everhart and wife, Aida, of Escondido, California, David Everhart of Muscatine, Becki Petersen and husband, Gary, of Muscatine, Wayne Everhart and wife, Vicki, of Muscatine, Brian Everhart of Muscatine, and Joe Everhart of Grandview; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; and one sister, Mary Bork of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Nancy, in infancy; one brother, Earl; and three sisters, Pearl, Ruth, and Clara; and one daughter-in-law, Karen Everhart.
