Russell Harris

Russell Lee Harris was born on August 3, 1930, in Algona, Iowa to the late Dan and Velma (Fosnaugh) Harris. On July 31, 1976, Russ was united in marriage to Naomi Jean Sisson. For forty-two years, Russ worked at Ag Builders in Windom as a millwright and his passion was being a member of the Windom Lion's Club where he received honors for Salesmanship and Lion of the Year. He was honored as a Windom Mayor Medal of Honor recipient for the "Good Neighbor Award". Russ was a temperamental person with a heart of gold who loved to fish and hunt. He also enjoyed collecting buckles, eagles, hats and steins. Russ had been in declining health and was visiting his step-daughter, Chris in Morgan on Saturday when he became suddenly ill and was taken to the Sleepy Eye Hospital. He was then transferred to Sioux Falls, South Dakota when he passed away in the ambulance on the way there at the age of 81 years.
