Frank Peterson, of Antigo, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his home. He was 82 years old. He was born on April 25, 1929 in Waupaca, a son of Richard and Susan (Weisenborn) Peterson. He married Mary Nowotny on June 23, 1956 at St. John Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2008.
He was a 1947 graduate of Antigo High School and served in the United States Marines during the Korean War from January 27, 1948 until January 26, 1952. He was a member of Leland Tollefson Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2653, Antigo and St. John Catholic Church.
Mr. Peterson was employed by Wisconsin Public Service first as a lineman and then an estimator retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, time at the casino and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy (Gary) Arnott, Antigo; 2 sons, Dave (Cindy) Peterson, Antigo and John (Stacey) Peterson, Farmington, MN; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in the Queen of Peace Mausoleum where Antigo veterans will conduct military rites. Visitat...[more]
