Doris I. Swanson, age 83 formerly of Colfax, died Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax, with burial following at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Howard Street Christian Church or Warsaw Christian Church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com. The daughter of Howard Williams, Sr. and Ruth (Meckley) Williams, Doris was born on June 10, 1928 in Colfax. She was united in marriage to Donald D. Swanson in 1947. Doris worked as a secretary in the Colfax Mingo School District for 17 years retiring in 1988. Doris lived in Jasper County most of her life, moving to Warsaw in 2001. She was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church, Warsaw Christian Church and PEO in Colfax.
