Sandra Payne

Sandra J. Payne, age 84, of Quincy, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 9:42 am in Blessing Hospital. Sandra was born April 1, 1937 in Rockport, IL, the daughter of Richard L. and Iona B. Sims Myers. She married Larry E. Payne on May 5, 1956, in Pittsfield, IL. He survives. Sandra attended Rockport schools and later Pittsfield High School. Her first job was in the Stark Brothers nursery office in Louisiana, MO. Sandra later worked in the Treasurers Office at the Pittsfield Courthouse. She retired in 1999 after 19 years at Farmers State Bank in Pittsfield. She was a member of Rockport Christian Church. Over the years she had amassed a sizeable collection of elephant and indian dolls and figurines. In their younger years the Payne's enjoyed riding their motorcycles and had many memorable adventures traveling to Colorado, California, Oregon, Florida, and Canada, among many others. Survivors in addition to her husband include: three children, Kevin L. Payne of Quincy, Tammy R. (Saul) Daconceicao of St. Augustine, FL, and Michelle (Daniel) McCartney of Pittsfield, IL.
