John “Jack” Lee Chase

On March 25, 2022, John "Jack" Lee Chase, passed away at the age of 79. Jack will lovingly be remembered by his wife Carol Riensche Chase; sister Sandy Chase; children from a previous marriage - son Art (Cathy) Chase; daughters Jannelle (Aaron) Kennedy, Angellina (Mike) Sitzman, Julie (Dustan) Berns; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great nieces and nephews. He has joined his mother Delphine Agnes McMahon Chase, father Clifford Eugene Chase, brothers Gene and Billy, and sister Cyndi in Heaven. Jack was born November 20, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended St. Peter's Catholic School, May Goodrell Middle School and Des Moines East High School. He enrolled in the US Navy and he became a Boatswain's Mate joining his brother Gene on the USS Epperson. When Jack and Carol met, they were volunteers for Civitan (organization for people with disabilities). They married and lived in Urbandale, Iowa for many years. Jack built several successful companies - Chase Trucking and Excavating, American Termite and Pest Control and Pepi's Pet Salon to name a few. raised horses. Jack was an enthusiast Hawkeye football fan. Jack's faith taught him to reach out to those less fortunate than himself, which he did on a daily basis. He volunteered at VOC where Jack was given an award that he always felt Carol deserved as much as he did. Using his gift of gab, Jack made connections with any store or person that he could get to donate to the VOC. This award led to Jack's induction into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame with a published story about Jack's accomplishments. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on April 7th followed by Honor Guard presentation and Memorial Service at the Desert Foothills Lutheran Church, of which Jack was an active member. The church is located at 29305 N. Scottsdale Road. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to VOC or the Outreach Center for Homeless Veterans, Phoenix. Burial will follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa at a date to be determined.
