Patrick A. Blum, age 70, of Rochester, MN passed away suddenly in Onamia, MN on Friday, May 27, 2022. Patrick Arron Blum was born November 15, 1951 in Eau Claire, WI the son of David and Dorothy (Bock) Blum. He grew up in Mondovi, WI and in 1964 he moved with his family to Rochester, MN. He was a 1970 graduate of John Marshall High School and graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a degree from Haas School of Business in 1975. Patrick was the administrator of Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester for 30 years. He started and owned and would later sell Meadow Lakes Sr. Living in Rochester and Prairie Meadows Sr. Living in Kasson. He also owned Comfort Home Health Care. He had served as president of Terra Verde Resorts in Kissimmee, Florida. Patrick married Brenda Remmes on January 26, 1992 in Rochester, MN and they have shared 30 years together. Together they traveled worldwide, wintered in Arizona, drove cross country in their motorhome, and spent time at their cabin in northern Minnesota. Patrick was a loving husband, dad and grandpa, an avid reader, world traveler, history buff and grill master. Patrick is survived by his children, wife and grandchildren; Brittany Blum (Matthew Nutzmann), Christina Blum, Amanda (James) Lohmann and Tricia Bredesen; six grandchildren; and five brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David Blum. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5455 50th Ave NW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Oakwood East Cemetery, Rochester, MN. Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Blum family.
