Barbara E. "Barbie" Currie, 62, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Friday morning, July 8, 2022, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa. A private family graveside service and burial celebrating her life will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Pence Cemetery, rural Baldwin, Iowa. Cremation has taken place. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family. Barbara Elaine Currie was born on October 8, 1959 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Paul Edwin and Myrtle Marie (Flagel) Currie. She attended Baldwin Schools and graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1977. She had worked for Hoffman Eggs in Maquoketa, then as a welder at WADY Industries in Maquoketa for 18 years and lastly in the packaging department for Maquoketa Company for 15 years until retirement. "Barbie" was a social person and made friends with anyone. She loved animals and would often babysit neighbors' pets when they would go on vacation. She also loved maintaining her trucks appearance.
