Harold Baker

Harold Lee Baker, age 94, of Quincy, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at 3:45 am in his home. Harold was born July 10, 1928 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of William H. and Alice Wisman Baker. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1946. Harold served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War in the 37th Field Artillery, 2nd Indian Head Division from 1950-1952. Upon his return from service, he married Melba Houston, on October 10, 1953 in Vandalia, MO. Harold farmed all his life on the family farm just North of Quincy. He was a member of Lutheran Church of St. John, where he was a member of the Men's Club. He was also a 4-H Leader, a member of Adams County Farm Bureau, where he served as a board of directors. Harold served on the Board of Directors for Adams FS. He loved camping, and Melba and he were snowbirds in Donna, TX for 21 years, where they made many friends. Harold was never a stranger to anyone and always had a story to tell others.
