tirement in 1995. Dick and his wife, Jean, spent their winters in the warm sunshine of Los Cabos, Mexico. Deep sea fishing, exploring the Baja peninsula, and making new lifelong friends were some of their winter highlights. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Konvalinka Hinds and daughters, Chris (Steve) Brettfeld and Deb (Terry) Ostrander, and three grandchildren: Stefan Brettfeld, Chelsea Brettfeld and Troy Sergey. Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Marie Hinds; brother, James Hinds and son, Michael Hinds. The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 15th at. St. Louis the King Catholic Church, 264 Silver Creek Road, Harvey, followed by a Funeral Mass in the church at 12 Noon with the Rev. Glenn Theoret officiating. A luncheon will be served in Gauthier Hall immediately following the Mass. A private graveside service with military honors will take place at a later date in the Norway Township Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions to be made to: American Lung Association, American Heart Association or Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, AZ in Dick's memory.
