Kempf, Mr. Michael Wayne Muskegon, Michigan Mr. Michael Wayne Kempf, age 74, of North Muskegon returned home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. He was born on November 7, 1947 in Muskegon to Ledford Erwin and Marianne (Bond) Kempf. Mike resided in Holton as a youth and attended Holton Public Schools, graduating in 1965. In high school, he lettered in every sport he played; baseball, basketball and his favorite team sport, football. In 1967, he married his High School sweetheart, Sandy (Sandra Richards). Mike and Sandy met in kindergarten but they were not a couple until 1963 and celebrated 55 years of marriage in January 2022. After attending Muskegon Community College, he completed his degree at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Mike worked as a Purchasing Manager for several companies including Haworth and various aerospace companies. Mike's passion was hunting, fishing and being in the great outdoors. He also loved traveling and spending time with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brought such joy to his life. SURVIVORS Mike is survived by his wife, Sandy of North Muskegon; his brother, Nathan (Terry) Kempf of Hesperia; children Michael II of Pensacola, FL; Tracy (John) Crawford of North Muskegon and Kathleen (Paul)Fairchild of Las Vegas, NV; 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICE Saturday, July 23, 2022, 12:00 PM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Alan Wilson officiating. Interment in Holton Township Cemetery.
