Joan Foster

Early on June 29, 2022, Joan Foster passed away peacefully at her home in Phoenix, AZ. Family and friends will gather in late November to honor her memory. Joan was born in 1934 and just recently celebrated her 88th birthday filled with cake, calls from family and lots of laughter. She married Elmer Foster in 1953 and they celebrated 53 years of marriage before Elmer's passing in 2006. She spent her life caring for others, including family, neighbors, friends and church members. Growing up, she cared for her five younger siblings and later for her own two children and three grandchildren, with a love and light like no other. She spent years working in the office of her church, as well as some time working in the local elementary school library where her granddaughter attended. She was a member of TOPS (Take Pounds Off Sensibly) and KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) for years, as well as an avid reader and loved her God. Joan is survived by her daughter JoAnn Lacey; three grandchildren Christine (Michael) Evans, Nicci Lacey (Chris Jean-Louis) and Lonnie (Heather) Lacey; two great grandchildren Reyna and Sydney Evans; three sisters Sharon Gray, Katie Musgrove (Leonard Arnold), Lois (David) Francis; brother Lloyd (Lisa) Murphy and many loving nephews, nieces and friends. Joan is predeceased by her daughter, Nicci; husband Elmer; brother Claude and his wife Alice; sister Viola Mae; brothers-in-law Ivan and Robert; and nephews Mike and Bret.
