Born: May 11, 1967
Passed: October 6, 2022
Funeral Home: Hansen Mortuaries
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lori Lane, age 55 of Flagstaff and Scottsdale, AZ. Lori went to be with the Lord after her 2 year battle with brain cancer on Thursday morning, October 6, 2022. Lori showed tremendous courage and strength throughout her 2 year journey, with multiple brain surgeries and multiple rounds of radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other forms of therapies. Lori endured many trips to the ER, feeding tubes, and hospital stays, all with zero complaining. She was truly inspirational and what an example she showed everyone who came into contact with her. Her husband and two daughters were her pride and joy and everything she did revolved around them. She was a selfless person who always held others needs and interests above her own. Her smile was spectacular and her laugh and sense of humor infectious. Lori was a devout Christian and her light shined brightly everywhere she went. Lori accepted her situation and never questioned God's purpose. She knew it was "her story" and our family's story, and that story was witnessed by many. Lori desired to glorify God in all she did. her hope and her faith never wavered. In her own words regarding her story, she didn't want to "screw it up". We can testify she did not screw it up. Lori was born in LaPorte, IN and grew up in Gaylord, MI and was loved and admired by all who knew her. She leaves behind her loving husband Shawn and her 2 daughters, Kennedy and Lauren, who were the light of her life. Lori also leaves behind her brother Brett Roundy of Gaylord, MI. Lori was preceded in death by her father, Larry Roundy and mother Martha Storing, of Gaylord, MI, both of which passed away within the last year. Lori loved her business of real estate. She was very successful in her pursuit of real estate investments and knew how to add value to ANY property she saw. It was a truly a gift she had and she loved to use it. We all wanted Lori to stay with us for many more years. But God had a different plan and different timing. She knew that God was in control and we know that He welcomed her with the words "Well done good and faithful servant!" Through all of her pain and suffering, Lori wanted to contribute to continued research to find a cure for this devastating disease and help others suffering from Glioblastoma brain cancer. As a result of her strong desire to help others, we were able to honor her desires and had her brain donated to science and specifically brain cancer research. In lieu of flowers, Lori's wish would be for people to donate to Glioblastoma brain cancer research in her name at https://secure2.convio.net/banner/site/Donation2;jsessionid=00000000.app20047b?idb=206338955&DONATION_LEVEL_ID_SELECTED=1&df_id=3440&mfc_pref=T&3440.donation=form1&NONCE_TOKEN=F3AD2E13DF134C885753C66165768FFB&idb=0 We hope to see you at Lori's Celebration of Life Service. But if you can't make it we want you to know that we are eternally grateful for the love and support you have poured out to our family over the past 2 years. With love, The Lane Family
