hdiocese parishes including St. James of Ferndale, Assumption Grotto, Christ the King, St. Alphonsus, and Most Holy Trinity. Fr. Tunney was then assigned as pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption & Missions in Owen Sound, Canada. Upon his reassignment to Windsor, Ont. at Assumption High School, he also engaged in evangelization efforts at St. Alphonsus Parish with poor and homeless people; and he also became the Chaplin at the Brentwood AA/ NA program, where he ministered to addicts until he was 91. Fr. Tunney was a joyful man of deep faith who lived an intentional life integrating his faith with his actions. He was non judgmental and thoughtful. He had a gentle, serene, empathetic demeanor that attracted people from all backgrounds. He had a lively sense of humor and loved music of all genres; and always found the best in everyone, which explains why he was so beloved by students, parents, family, and people from all backgrounds. Fr. Tunney Hathaway was the best of the best, and will be missed by family and friends and all who loved him. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:00AM, at Detroit Catholic Central High School Chapel in Novi, MI. A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:00. Burial will take place immediately after at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI. In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests Memorial Gifts may be made to the: Fr.
