Her parents purchased a cottage on Sugden Lake where she enjoyed many summers as a young adult. Beatrice married Stanley on April 11th, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Their honeymoon was enjoyed in Florida, and even included traveling to Cuba. Upon returning home, they moved into Beatrice's parents' home on Medbury Street in Detroit, MI. Stan worked at J.L. Hudson selling shirts to save enough money to buy a home for themselves. They bought an old house on 9 Mile in East Detroit and converted it into a funeral home. Their first customer was Stanley's mother. Several years later, they purchased their new funeral home in Eastpointe at the corner of Gratiot and Toepfer. The Funeral Home was known as Read-Schultz Funeral Home and later was changed to S.K. Schultz Funeral Home. Bea and Stan loved running the business and became very involved with their community. They joined St. Veronica Catholic Church, and Bea became the president of St. Veronica's Altar Society. She was very active in the Soroptimist Club of East Detroit, East Detroit Beautification Committee, East Detroit Lioness Club, and the Polish Women's Alliance of America. After many years of successful business, the family purchased a boat on Lake St. Clair that they lovingly named, The Office. They also enjoyed being members of Lochmoor Club and the Detroit Yacht Club. During their retirement years, they purchased a condo on Siesta Key, Florida, where they enjoyed their second home and many cherished family vacations. Beatrice was known by her family and friends to be a very giving and loving person. She was charismatic, constantly telling jokes and making the people around her laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and will be remembered as having a big heart and a charming personality and was never happier than when she could make people laugh. Bea and Stan always enjoyed entertaining their family and friends. They loved taking them out for a good meal, and to break bread. Bea will always be remembered for her famous toast she loved to share, "Circle of friends, friends forever." Of course, she always toasted with one perfect southern comfort manhattan on the rocks with a twist and a cherry - her personal favorite. She will be greatly missed by everyone she touched during her 93 years of living. Visitation will be held on November 2, 2022 from 1-8pm at the Chas Verheyden Inc. 43300 Garfield, Clinton Twp MI. The funeral mass will take place on November 3, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 18201 23 Mile Road, Macomb MI with instate 9:30am. Private Entombment White Chapel Cemetery.
