John C. Marvel "Jack", on October 31, 2022, of Somerdale; formerly of South Philadelphia. Age 53. Loving husband of Danielle (nee Whipple). Devoted father of Connor and Lily. Cherished son of the late Charles and Eileen. Dear Brother of Charles, Jr. (Margie), Paul (Nancy), Steve (Kerry) and the late Michael. Brother-in-law of Roland Andrews, Christian Whipple (Nicole), Drew Whipple (Theresa), Melissa Christinzio (David), Ryan Whipple (Ana). Son-in-law of Marianne Whipple and the late Buddy. Uncle of Charles, Ronnie, Ali, Ally, Kristen, Grace, Madison, Olivia, Ryder, Anna, Cody and Aleysea. Jack worked as an electrician with IBEW Local 98. He was deeply passionate about giving back to the community and was a founding member of the Burke Fund Playground. Jack loved the beach, was an avid Philly sports fan and was known for his jokes and sense of humor. He was a longtime basketball coach for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a member of the Pirates NYB and marched with the Froggy Carr NYB.
