Rosemarie Sanico Bibbs

Rosemarie Sanico Bibbs, age 60, died on November 29, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Although she was not born a Minnesotan, she was proud to become one through her decades living in Rochester. Rosemarie was born on July 31, 1962, in Caloocan City, Philippines, to Cesar and Emedita Fernandez. This is where her journey started. She was fortunate to experience her childhood on the beautiful Philippine Islands, where she excelled in school, had many friends, and acquired life skills through part-time work. At 19, she fell in love with Charles Bibbs while he was serving with the United States Navy at U.S. Naval Base Subic Bay. The couple had their first child (Charles) and married in 1984 before the Navy stationed her family in San Diego, CA. She moved to New Mexico, where her daughter (Syreena) was born. From there, she got to experience life in Japan, South Korea, and Rhode Island - where her husband's service concluded. 93 to support his education at Mayo Medical School - and she was adept at smoothing over school transfers for her kids. Unsurprisingly, her life in Rochester was just as rewarding as the previous phase because she became a first-time homeowner, worked at several local businesses, and raised her children from elementary school to adulthood. She loved exploring to find new Asian restaurants, watching Korean dramas, listening to pop music, calling her mother and sister on the phone, and she especially loved watching QVC (and occasionally ordering). Nearly 30 years have passed since her move to Rochester in 1993. Time flew by as she watched dozens of RYBA baseball games, John Marshall Track and Field events, and every activity her children participated in. She was never the person who cheered the loudest, but she was undoubtedly the most invested - because she loved her kids. She was the best mom. She loved to show affection through food. When coming home from college for the weekend, you didn't want to show up already having eaten because she would make sure you ate anyways to be sure you were full. She devoted all her energy to ensuring her kids were healthy and happy. Love cannot be expressed any more purely than that. Rosemarie's early passing is tragic, especially as she recently became a grandmother (Charles Dean); however, she passed knowing that her family would continue to share her memories, values, and love. She is survived by her mother, Emedita (Oscar Wayne); sister Marilou (Robert) Dollish; son Chuck (Reba) Bibbs; daughter Syreena Bibbs; and grandson Charlie Bibbs. She is preceded in death by her father and her second son, Ty. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 10:30 am at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN), with visitation one hour before the service. The burial will take place at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Rochester.
