est to provide for the three of us, which wasn't easy, as anyone who knows any of us can attest. We put her through what had to be the toughest years of her life, and she made it! We've all said if we had been in the same position, we would have put us up for adoption. But, no one would take us, so she was stuck! Thank God we had her! Mom had a professional life apart from us. She was a buyer at Carson Pirie Scott until they closed. She also worked at Merkels, and at First Bankers Trust during retirement. Mom, you were the glue that held the family together. All the holidays, birthdays, and incidental parties were so important to you and making sure we were all together to celebrate. Family was the most important part of your life. We always had way too much fun. You were a constant at all of our activities, whether baseball games, golfing events, or musical performances, you were there cheering us on, and you were the best Cub Scout leader ever! Mom, you always said "How could I have been so lucky to have had the three of you?" Well... that is debatable, but what we do know for sure is we thank God that we had you as our loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. Mom is survived by: three children, Cynthia "Cindy" Fessler, William (Krista) Pfeiffer, and David Pfeiffer and his wife Chris (who was like another daughter to Alice); grandsons Adam and Zach (Paige) Pfeiffer; a granddaughter, Nicole (Britt) Million; and great grandsons, Colton and Colin Million. Mom was preceded in death by: her parents, Donald and Leila Carley; a brother in infancy; her sister Patricia "Pat" Carley; and her inlaws, who were like another mother and father to her, Henry and Florence Pfeiffer. Mom loved family, music, and animals, and always had music playing and a dog or cat by her side. Put on some music and if you have a pet keep them by your side! Mom, we always felt loved and pray you felt our love for you. You were so strong, fought so long, and are now at rest. Thank you God for this gift you gave us for all these years. We would like to thank the fourth floor staff at Sunset home for all the love and compassion they gave to mom. Visitation: 12:30 - 1:30 pm Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
