Marie Rommel

Marie R. Rommel, 98, of North Ridgeville, Ohio and formerly of Owatonna, Minnesota passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 following a valiant three-year battle with breast cancer. She was born December 18, 1924 in Luana, Iowa to the late Werner and Elsie (nee Lenth) Knuth. Marie attended Baldwin Wallace where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Avon, Ohio. She retired from R.R. Donnelly and Sons where she had worked as a proofreader. Marie's favorite ways to relax were researching genealogy, doing needlework, and painting. Marie is survived by her loving children Douglas Rommel (Brenda), Frederick J. Rommel (Judith), and W. David Rommel; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and brother Werner Knuth (Jacquelin). She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years Walter Rommel; son Donald Rommel; and brothers Harlan Knuth and Delbert Knuth. Family will receive friends again on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 10am - 12pm at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service prior to procession to Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester, Minnesota for burial.
