Stacy Lee Starnes

Stacy Lee Starnes was born to Howard Lee and Elba Jean Starnes on July 30, 1953, in Sherman, Texas. He went to be with his heavenly family and friends on March 22, 2023. Stacy grew up in Tom Bean, Texas where he attended school, graduating from Tom Bean High School in 1971. Stacy was voted "most handsome" his senior year. He grew up attending church at the First Baptist Church of Tom Bean and was a member of the local Boy Scouts, earning the degree of Eagle Scout. Stacy married Lee Ann Wood of Denison, Texas on November 17, 1972. To that marriage were born two daughters, Christie Lee and Melissa Ann. Stacy and Lee Ann just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 17, 2022, with all of their children and grandchildren. Stacy had a great love of cooking and music. He competed in and won several chili cookoffs and played in many bands throughout his lifetime. He was able to fulfill his lifetime dream of being in a great band and traveling the United States playing music as a member of The Larry Franklin Band. s two daughters, Christie Lee Coffey of Kyle, Texas and Melissa Ann Starnes and husband Justin Ehlert of Spicewood, Texas; grandsons Gavin David Belknap and fiancé Michaela Conde of Leander, Texas; Garrett Cody Montgomery and significant other, Olivia Thomas of Austin, Texas; Cannon Wade Jamison and Harrison Cruz Ehlert; and Granddaughters Camryn Lee Jamison and Kaylee Ann Pohl; cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close family and friends. Stacy was preceded in death by his father, mother, two sisters, being Deborah Diane Kriner and Rachel Elaine Starnes and one brother David Howard Starnes. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on April 15th at 4:00 p.m. located at 211 Lake Drive, Denison, Texas 75020 and will welcome all who knew and loved him to join in the celebration.
