SARAH GERELS MUSCATINE, Iowa - Sarah Gerels, 78, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Premier Estates. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the Island Cemetery. Chaplain Scott Minteer will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jason Gerels, Arron Gerels, Virgil Bierman Jr., Rick Bierman, Rod Bierman, Howard Brooks Jr., Andres Brooks. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Sarah was born on February 3, 1945, in Muscatine, the daughter of Marion 'Pappy' Rolland and Grace M. Hathaway Snyder. She married Joseph J. Gerels on September 28, 1963, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2007. Sarah enjoyed gardening, fishing, knitting, and putting puzzles together.
