and Elisa Sciscioli. Alice met Ron her sophomore year in high school and made him wait 9 years before marrying him, thus the "+9". She fulfilled her dream of becoming a mother when she and Ron adopted Rebecca and was ecstatic when Kathryn was born 3 years later to make their family complete. Standing beside Ron and watching their daughters grow was Alice's pride and joy. A favorite pastime was camping in the pop-up and a very close second was taking long walks with their dog, Sammy. Alice's most proud moments, however, were welcoming her grandchildren, the light of her life. She cherished every moment with Lucy, Molly and Joey, seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter. She delighted in each piano "conference" from Lucy and Molly and each song performance from Joey and their combined efforts at instrumental entertainment with the multitude of instruments in the living room, which was not restricted to holiday gatherings, which were a source of entertainment all on their own. Alice earned her Bachelor's of Science in Music Education from Nazareth College and completed postgraduate work at Eastman School of Music and SUNY Fredonia. She began as classroom music teacher and choral director at School #16 in the Rochester City School District where she dedicated her career to the livelihood of her students and families. Alice became a certified Orff-Schulwerk instructor in 1994 and was very active in the American Orff Schulwerk Association (AOSA) as both presenter across the country and in local and national leadership roles. She also presented for Canada Orff and the New York State School Music Association. Alice received the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's Music Educators Award in 1994 and the 2016 Outstanding Alumna Award from Nazareth College, among many other accolades. After 34 years at School #16, Alice retired and transitioned to Hochstein School of Music where she was inaugural director of Little Singers and department head and instructor for FUNdamental classes. She also took a faculty position at Nazareth College where her encouragement of students was endless. Family, music, faith, cooking and traveling were Alice's passions. Her love and inspiration will be carried on through the many lives she has touched. Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10.
